Our Program

Origin is a novel incubator focused exclusively on the Albanian market. At Origin, we empower visionaries at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey.

Our unique dual-track approach caters to a diverse range of innovators.The “Startup Track” is designed for individuals or teams who already have a business idea. Here, we offer substantial investment, resources, and mentorship to transform your concept into a thriving startup. Whether it’s technology, healthcare, or any other sector, we provide the capital and expertise needed to scale your vision to new heights.

For those at the idea generation stage, we present the “Fellows Track”. Unlike traditional incubators, we understand that great ideas need space to grow. This track is for dreamers and thinkers who haven’t yet solidified their concept. We provide donations and a nurturing environment to explore and develop groundbreaking ideas, free from the pressure of immediate commercial viability.

Do I need to speak English and Albanian to apply?

Yes. Albanian fluency is a must. We also believe that English is key to a presence in the global stage, and thus we require all applicants to display conversational competency.

I don't have a startup idea in mind, can I still apply?

Yes. Origin features two tracks for applicants: the Startup Track and the Fellows Track. If you don't have a concrete idea in mind, then you can apply to become a Fellow. You don't need to be a technologist, a developer, or an engineer, you just have to have a strong passion for building something great in Albania.

What are the conditions for the Fellows Track?

The application is considered holistically. The important factors are educational background, work experience, and -- most important of all -- drive to build the future. The funding structure is a flat fee of $5,000 (five thousand dollars) per year, guaranteed for two years, with an option to renew for an additional two years if there is demonstrated progress towards materializing an idea.

What are the conditions for the Startup Track?

The minimal condition for application is typically a minimally-viable product. You do not need to have accumulated a user base, although it helps. What matters is that you have clearly demonstrated the ability to go from "zero to one" with your idea. In other words, the ability to take steps more than just some idea on paper. We want to see a demo, an mvp, or something similar. Funding ranges from $25,000 (twenty five thousand dollars) to $250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand dollars) depending on the maturity of the company, with a fixed equity stake of 10% of the company.
